welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

Full of hot air

We went to the hot-air balloon festival on Saturday :) It's held in good-old Panguich Utah. We of course had to eat at a lil mom and pop diner before heading over and enjoying the colorful spectacle these lovely hot air balloons provide! Here's some pictures from the evening....

Groovalicious

Groovefest has been going on this last week. It's a two-day event at the park. The idea is to support the arts by providing a venue to new artists to display their talent. They feature all types of music and never feature the same artist twice. This was my first time going, but I've heard many praises for the artists. I have to be honest, I was not feeling the music that played while were were there which was bummber bc it was the featured artists of the whole festival!! I hear the night b4 features some more indie/contemporary/folk music which is more my style. Oh well!!! It was fun to support the arts, eat the yummy park food, and bask in summer glory with all the hippie-pot smokers.

I thought the above picture was fitting since 90% of the people there were on LSD

'quaking poplars'

We went for a picnic on Kanaraville Mt thursday. Growing up my family owned a cabin up that way which left me with a love for the mountains, specifically, a love for Aspen Trees. Now, a mountain doesn't seem like a mountain without Quakes. We had fun picnicing and playing cards. Some photos...

I don't love being in the car

FlowerCHILD Ty's first REAL swim! It took some convincing but he did it!
FlowerDOG
I think this photo is hilarious...we were trying to pose all cute and ty came running in btw us (see the white bump near my leg...thats him) spreading muky water and mudd everywhere...I guess we'll call this a "candid" shot
The perfect picnic
I do love the great outdoors though!
Walkin' in the wildflowers

We had a SUPER fun weekend. But....it took some doing. We spent late Thursday night and all day Friday cleaning our SLC apt for official check-out. For being such a ghetto place, they sure are anal. We had to do a "walk through" with the manager where she knit-picked every little thing. We would have just bagged the security deposit but OF COURSE, they state in the contract that legal action will be taken if charges are not paid (we figure we'll get charged about $300.00). Man I hope this is the last rental we have. B-words! Nonetheless it was so good to say farewell to Donna Manor for good. No more wafting stale smoke, lesbian love quarrels, drug trafficking or cramped quarters...YIPPIE

Anyway, the weekend took a significant turn for the better when we got to stay with Shauna on Friday and then when I got to go to my good friend Kay's wedding shower in Park City on Saturday. The shower was so lovely!!! It was at her future sister-in-law's house in Kimball Junction. The food was made by her chef husband and man was it Divine! Such a beautiful setting too. It was so good to see the girls and just chat for awhile. Kay got some fun gifts including a Kamo (sp?) thong (she's outdoorsy) HEHE.

After the shower I drove through Heber and met Todd and everyone at Scott & Shauna's cabin up Provo Canyon. The drive was sooo lovely! I told Todd no offense but I didn't want to get there! I was really glad I did bc we just love staying at the cabin sooo dang much. Scott calls it "God's country" and ya know I think he is absolutely right. I always leave with such renewed calmness and peace.

Another great aspect of the cabin is the endless food!! We had Tin foil dinners and I must say they were super scrumptiousTy of course enjoyed the food too :) Bad HABIT....I know
Such a BEGGAR!

The card games...also a staple of cabin fun. Card playing was less fun for me this time. (inside joke; Naked Hawaiian can kiss my you-know-what)

The Utah Summer Games have been here in Cedar the last two weeks. That means crowded restaurants, painted vehicle windows and of course, sports GALORE! Callie and Melissa both competed in soccer. Needless to say, we've watched a LOT of soccer the last few weeks. It's been really fun watching the girls strut their stuff. Here's some pics from the Opening Ceremony...it was a great night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Callie and Melissa walked in the processional around the track with all the other athletes. Callie is in last row of three girls, closest to the track (we missed Melissa...there's a LOT of athletes!)
All the athletes on the field...
They had lots of fun visitors, like all the college mascots and the Jazz Bear.
My favorite part of the evening was definitely the jazz dance performance by the "Golden Girls"...there was a solo by a 92-year-old women. Splits and all. It was rockin.
