We had just gotten back from California the day before the 4th but we still made a point to do our regular traditions and I’m glad we did. We went to the parade bright and early and the park after. Lottie did really good during the parade and didn’t even cry at the sirens. It must’ve been 100 degrees and we waited in SEVERAL long lines so Lyla could jump in the bouncy houses. She LOVED it. She must have little man’s syndrome because she seems to think she can hold her own with kids double and triple her size. After we had lunch with the family and my grandpa. That evening we had everyone over to our house for homemade ice cream and to watch the fireworks. We also had snaps and sparklers, both of which Lyla LOVED. I thought she’d be scared of the sparklers but she wasn’t at all. She wanted to hold them and everything. She also got a kick out of hearing the snaps pop when she’d throw them on the concrete. I have to say it was such a joy for me to dress my two girls in matching red dresses and have both of them to celebrate with. My little Independence babies
