welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

More Birthday Fun

Dear Lyla, the day before your real birthday, Dad had to leave for work.  He was soooo sad.  He felt horrible and even cried.  We did our best to celebrate you while he was here.  We had a yummy dinner of your favorite, Pizza, and had you open gifts.  You so love unwrapping things, so I wrapped all your gifts, even the giant ones!  Your main present was your easel and accessories from IKEA!  You can draw with chalk, crayons and dry erase markers on it!  You were so excited you just hopped right on top of it to get the paper off.  You also got an adorable little vacuum since you love to do what I do.  It even has a detachable hose and the center comes off to be a hand-held vacuum.  Other gifts you got from us were clothes, shoes, wooden puzzles and more kitchen tools (like a wire wisk!).

On the day of your actual birthday, we did all of your favorite things.  It started with a donut with a candle in it (which I didn’t get a picture of dangit!), followed by dance! After that we had lunch at Mcdonalds (another fave), napped and then did some serious finger painting.  As you can see, it even got on your bum!  We then made your cake, and of course you got to lick the beaters which is your very fav.  I made you cake with about 7 layers of icing since you love it so.  And then we had your family party!  The fam came for pizza (again, your favorite) and cake and ice cream.  You got spoiled rotten from the family.  I think the gift of the year was the dolly with matching clothes, shoes and hair bows.  You started right away dressing it.  Happy 2 years my beauty! Love you.
