welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

Pink iphone anyone?

Ah the allure of a pink iphone; it was the demise of our new HP widescreen laptop. Last night Todd was checking his e-mail and I guess the gayness in him took over and he opened an e-mail promising a pink iphone. Since that time my life has been a living hell. Not five minutes later our computer started flashing pop-ups and various prompts saying a remote attacker was scanning our files. It said "corruption, corruption" and various other things. Then, it took over our homepage. Then, it masqueraded as the vista "cancel or allow" prompts and asked me to allow things. Then, slowly, our programs and the start up menu disappeared.

At ten p.m. I called GEEKSQUAD's 24-hour services. They offered me remote help for the cheap price of $135.00!!! All I could think of was, I could buy a damn pink iphone for that much. Then the night unfolded like a scene from The Net. I was asked to go to a Internet page, enter a code and next thing I knew my geek was controlling my computer. I could see the mouse move, see files being scanned, but I wasn't touching a thing! I was informed that I had a zrob, the most infectious Trojan virus. A remote attacker was going through our cookies etc to get our personal information. I was informed he would get anything I used to pay bills online. Fantastic! I was up with this geek until two a.m. Then he asked me to call back tom. I called today when I got home at 4p.m. At one point he said, "I found it!". I thought. Great, delete the bastard and lets move on. BUT NO!!! My lovely virus has the ability to learn and to recreate. He can't just delete the files bc they will recreate themselves. Awesome. This dude then informed me he had to send me to another dept bc my virus was too sophisticated for their tools. Again, awesome.

8pm this evening (after nearly 10 hours of them working on it) my lovely Agent Martinez informed that the virus was beat. Wow. The panic finally subsided. For weeks I've been thinking that I need to back up my files and pictures. ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE STORED ON THIS COMPUTER. Needless to say, I'll be doing that.

Themes...1) big brother is out there 2) back stuff up! 3) Geeksquad is my hero!!!
The scan informing me I've been infected!

My hand, not moving, but the mouse is!!!

Saturday, Girls Day OUT!

All the girls went and got pedicures! This was the first time for me! I am now a huge fan. It felt sooo good. I nearly fell out of my chair because I was so relaxed. It was lovely. It was also great to bond with the girls!

Before heading out, I walked into the bedroom and saw Todd. IN SHORTS!!! Look at the snow, look at the shorts. What's wrong with this boy?!?

Ahhhh....!

So FUN!!!

This weekend Todd's neice Jackie (who's my age) and her friend Diedre came down from Logan to play with us. Friday night we went to the hockey game. It was a good time!

We were on the JUMBO-TRON!

Grisby flashing us!!!Then, Brisby stole my camera and started taking pictures of random people. I thought it was funny so I thought I'd post a pic of this random guy.

I started this post ages ago but didn't finish it until today. If you're interested go back to Dec. 28th. (a page or so back).

SUNDANCE 08!

That's right. Todd and i had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Sundance Film AT Sundance in Park City. Yesterday my friend Kay called and asked if Todd and I would like to join her and fiance Matt at the show...they unexpectedly got extra tickets. How nice are they?!? We own then big time. Todd and I had such a good time with them...they really are just one of those couples that just fit...CUTE!

Back to the event....Kay and Matt live in down-town Park City so we parked at their home and walked down Main to take a trolley to the Eccles Theatre...where we watched Sunshine Cleaning. The movie stars Amy Adams (from Enchanted and the Wedding Date) and Emily Blunt (the mean receptionist from The Devil Wears Prada). Emily Blunt was actually at the theatre to introduce the film. I think that's the closest I've ever been to a star!

Can I just say that I absolutely LOVED this movie. Why can't all movies have that indie, character-centered, rooted feel? Ah! It was so good! It was the story of two sisters weighed down by childhood burdens who become crime-scene cleaners to make a buck. I was so touched by their struggle to overcome their past...it was almost as if healing was within being ordinary. This was one of those movies that shows ordinary in and extraordinary way. Obviously, I was very touched by the movie and absolutely loved it.

Following the movie, we walked around downtown star gazing of course! We didn't officially see anyone, but we saw this beautiful woman getting out of a vehicle with an entourage....someone said it was Naomi Cambell but who knows!
We then went to the Red Rock Cafe (I think) for linner. I'm told Jennifer Aniston has dined there (I'm such a sucker for stars). The food was so good! Todd said it was the best BBQ Pizza he's ever had (and he's had a lot) and I had a delicious Cob Salad.

It was such a fantastic day...aside from the great movie, and yummy food, it was just lovely being amongst the arts! It was the first movie I've ever been to that people actually waited until all the credits had rolled before leaving. The director also answered theatrical questions about the movie after....I love watching people speak about their passions. Maybe I'll be a film critic in another live :)
This says it all

Emily Blunt is the one on the left

Welcome back Zach!

It's been awhile so here are some updates. As the subject line indicates, we officially welcomed Zach back into the states at his mission report. Todd and I went BACK to Cedar to listen to him talk. The girls and I sucessfully played "Come Thou Fount"!! This was a major feat being that my younger sisters haven't played for very long and that the arrangement was a little complex. Oh well. We did it! Zach's talk was amazing. We really got to see how he grew. Elsie also celebrated her THREE YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY while we were there! She was so adorable! She got princess high heels and everything else under the sun. I forgot my camera so no pics of the events unfortunately....OOPS!

I begrudgingly went back to school for my FINAL SEMESTER BABY!!! Todd also went back. We went back with a bang....the night we got home from Cedar, we got a letter saying our rent had been increased by 100 bucks! I also got a debilitating cold....I swear it was psychosomatic. I completely lost my voice and sounded like I had wooping cough. I ended up missing my last two classes and one day of work. This semester is gonna be a killer bc I stacked my classes so that I go from 8am to 8pm every Thursday...why I can't remember.

Aside from that most things are the same. Todd and I have begun working towards some of our resolutions....we've been eating painfully healthy which is a definite change for us!

Thats all for now..Pray for OBAMA. He needs more than IOWA!
Oh, and YAY for the three-day weekend. I knew I loved MLK.

Ode to my LOVA

You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on you're back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else But you
I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone elseBut you
Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else But you
The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone elseBut you
I will find my nitch in your car
With my mp3 dvd rumple-packed guitar

I've been wanting to make a post like this for awhile, but I realize the sheer pathetic nature of it. Since it's opening, Todd and I have have developed a glutenous weakness for the Cheesecake Factory. We've only eaten there once, but we have gotten cheesecake to go three time since its inception in November. It's my new favorite guilty pleasure. What can beat cheesecake eating in your PJ's??? A million calories or not, WE love the Cheesecake Factory!!

My favorite....Brownie Sundae....a brownie crust, cheesecake with a layer of milk chocolate, topped with whipped cream and pecans....heaven in a carton.!!!
