welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

California

On a whim, Jenny and I packed up our kids and headed to California.  My grandpa’s house was vacant, My mom and sisters were already there, and we needed a break so we thought, why not?!  The driving was fairly rough considering we intentionally drove late at night hoping the kids would sleep.  Did they?  NOPE!  I must’ve climbed in the back to pass treats or fix the movie 100 times.  Lyla was especially naughty and hated the drive.  I think they got over it quick once we got there though.  My grandpa has a very nice clubhouse that we basically lived at.  It was so nice to have the house to make meals and have naps, and then we’d just swim the rest of the time.  Lottie was such a little angel baby and mostly slept.  One day, we decided to go to an Aquarium in Long Beach.  I had wanted to do something fun while were there since this will be our only Summer vacation.  Lyla absolutely loved the aquarium.   She did the sign for fish and ooo’d and awe’d over and over.  The highlight was certainly watching her in the “you may touch” areas.  She would literally grab and squeeze the stingrays and mini sharks!  I was dying at how brave she was and was a little concerned.  She also loved the section where you could feed the birds.  She again, was so brave and could not get enough of trying to hold the birds.  She also signed bird over and over.  We also went to Ventura Beach one day.  Lyla had a GREAT time playing in the sand.  She also got a kick out of chasing the waves.  She would’ve spent days there if I would've let her.
