welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

The Zoo, The Cabin and IKEA

Todd had a second interview in SLC (the job is out of St. George, which turned into a great job opportunity..yay!) and Todd’s sister Kristi, just happened to be in Provo to take Jacob to BYU.  SOOOO, obviously, we had to take the trip.  Lyla loved the cabin and the river (which was slightly scary given all the drowning lately).  The first night the kids slept horribly.  Lottie is such a light sleeper and Lyla was just weirded out by the new place.  Anyway, that morning I dropped off Todd for the interview and ventured IKEA myself.  Bad idea #1.  I hadn’t been in a long time and forgot how big that place was.  Jenny had a shopping list for me…I didn’t get a cart…dumb idea #1, and I went straight to the play place..for fun…dumb idea #3.  Lyla pooped.  Then Lottie had to eat, so I fed her in the middle of the play place.  Then I walked all over that bloody store trying to find everything.  By the end Lottie was crying, Lyla was throwing a fit, and I was packing both of them and a ton of giant pillows all by myself!  Ahhh.  After that we got dad who had been offered the new job, a GREAT huge relief and blessing for us.  So we did a little shopping and went to the Hogle Zoo.  Callie met up with us which was so fun to see that college girl.  I’ve been dying to take Lyla to the Zoo since she became interested in animals.  She LOVED it.  Every animal elicited ooohs and ahhs.  She would point at each animal and say “Look!”.  Funny story, the elephant pooped while we were watching him.  Lyla said “ewww”.  Well, we didn’t notice but the cup we bought at the zoo had an elephant on it.  So the whole rest of the trip, Lyla would point at the cup and say “poop!'” all indignant like. It was hilarious.  Lottie girl slept a lot of the time but woke up to see a few of the cooler animals.  Lyla also got to ride the Carousel.  She loved that too.  The only thing she didn’t love was the fake dinosaurs that roared when you got close to them.  She would run to us and say “scary”.  It was really fun.  After that we got together with Todd’s mom, Shauna, Kristi, Jacob and Amanda (cousins).  It was really fun to spend some time with them since we never see those Georgians.  We had a great trip, sleeplessness and all Smile   064063062061060059058057056010009007006004 - Copy004011
