welcome to my internet home. this blog used to be cool, with insights about mental health, social policy, pop culture and the like. now, it's a chaotic collection of my mis-spelled, scribbled-down notes on motherhood (who has time to proof read?). it's over-ran with goldfish cracker crumbles, slobery wet kisses, and un-edited pictures. and i would have it no other way. feel free to laugh and cry along side me while I balance a practice (mental heath) and motherhood, and their interconectedness

Spring Break Part II: Mesquite

The second stop on our Spring Break trip was Mesquite, NV. This stop was also primarily made en route to Las Vegas. We thought a night in Mesquite was a happy median btw Cedar and Sin City. Cheaper hotel rates, easy access gambling, warmer weather and buffets! Since the hotel rates are so much cheaper than in Vegas we got a suite! It was so nice! I'm sure it rivals our apt in square-footage.

Other Highlights were....

  • "Experience" the Buffet. It's supposed to be the best in Mesquite. It was Asian cuisine that night and it rocked! Fabulous egg roles.

  • Weather above 50 degrees

  • Our ginourmous jetted tub

  • Eatin ice cream and renting "Dan in Real Life" from our hotel room. I always love doing that bc it seems like such a luxury. The funny part was that the remote to the TV in our room didn't work right so we had to watch in on our other TV; in the front room. We pulled out the hide-away bed. It was just ironic bc we had the huge bed in the other room

  • Gambling for the first time!!! (for me)

  • Exchanging a 100-dollar bill into chips (we did it more for fun and of COURSE did not gamble it all away)

  • Playing the tables like a high roller

As you can see...the weather was better but still threatening to storm
This once was 85 dollars!!!

Heading out to win big
The first pull ever!!
This kitchen is easily bigger than ours!
This was the greatest discovery of all!!!If you've never tried this ice cream you must!! Holy moly it is good. Its got chunks of buttery gram cracker crust that is like the real deal. Man is it this tasty. I was only supposed to have one bite..opps. only 280 calories and 15 fat grams for 1/4 of the carton...wow Goodbye Suite...Hello VEGAS!!
